Enhance your business with fast and reliable Wi-Fi connections by connecting the Cisco Business 140AC Dual-Band Wireless Access Point to your compatible network router or switch. This kit includes three dual-band 802.11ac Wave 2 access points, each of which can be discreetly mounted onto a wall or ceiling to transfer data at up to 1167 Mb/s over the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. The 140AC's Gigabit Ethernet port supports passive 802.3af power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing you to transfer both data and power over a single cable when connected to compatible devices. Alternatively, you can power the device with a separately purchased PoE injector. Up to 50 (25 recommended) access points can be used to create a mesh network that operate using a single network ID (SSID) and password. Each 140AC access point also supports up to 25 Cisco Business mesh extenders to maximize coverage, providing users with smooth experiences as they browse the internet, watch videos, and more, while moving from one location to another. Use the Cisco Business mobile app to configure, manage, and monitor your network and its connected devices.

With its powerful internal antennas and support for 2x2 MU-MIMO technology, the Cisco Business 140AC can communicate with multiple devices simultaneously, transferring up to 867 Mb/s over the 5 GHz frequency and 300 Mb/s on the 2.4 GHz band. Each access point can handle up to 400 clients or each system can handle 1000.

Your wireless network is protected by WPA2 encryption with WPA3 support coming in a Post-Frame Check Sequence (FCS) release. Other security features include RADIUS authentication, support for up to 16 VLANs, and guest network logins that can be authenticated against Google and Facebook.

With the Cisco Business mobile app for Android and iOS, you can quickly expand your network by using Quick Response (QR) codes to add new mesh extenders and devices. You can also use the app to monitor network usage, traffic patterns, and network throughput to help ensure optimal user experiences.

You can attach the Cisco Business 140AC access point to a wall or ceiling, including a T-bar rail mounting, using the included hardware.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do these need an Aruba Central license to work?

A: No, an Aruba Central license is not required to use the Aruba AP-515 Dual Radio Internal Antenna Wireless Access Point (US), but it is recommended.

Q: 2. It says "Down-tilt Antennas", how does that work then it can be wall, desk or ceiling mounted? Do you set the mounting position via SW? Also, I want to mount it on the basement wall or ceiling, does it do up-tilt?

A: So for this item it would radiate wireless signal in a sphere. So direction of the antennas would not impede speed or distance. Nor would the devices orientation, however placement in structure such as a basement would be limiting its effective range.

Q: 3. does this include a power adapter?

A: The TP-Link EAP223 AC1350 Wireless Dual-Band Access Point, B&H # TPEAP223, does not include a power adapter.

Q: 4. Can I use the access point to give ethernet access via with wifi connection to router./nternet?

A: The TP-Link EAP653 AX3000 Wireless Dual-Band Access Point must have a wired connection to your router, either directly or via a switch. It will then provide wireless network (Wi-Fi) access to your network.

Q: 5. Does this require an Aruba account and/or cloud-based management? I need to set up an air-gapped network and all network management/configuration needs to happen locally. This would be attached via a 1Gbps port on an existing managed router.

A: Yes, the Aruba Instant On AP22 Dual-Band Access Point with 12V Power Adapter require an Aruba account for setup. A local connection can suffice as well. More information can be found at https://www.arubainstanton.com/techdocs/en/content/get-started/application-login.htm

Q: 6. Signal range for this access point?

A: The range of an access point depends on many factors, including obstructions, wall density, and RF interference, but a typical guideline is to deploy one access point every 800 square feet or so.

Q: 7. Do I need purchase license for this?

A: These Cisco 140AC AP come with a Cisco Business limited lifetime hardware warranty, free software updates, no service contract required.

Q: 8. Does the Aruba A515 include mounting hardware suitable for drop tile ceilings?

A: According to the manufacturer, Mounting kits are sold separately

Q: 9. Can this device be used as a stand alone mesh? Meaning, can you use 2-3 of these with your existing router to create a mesh network or do you have to use a compatible cisco router with these?

A: The Cisco Business 150AX Wireless Access Point is not designed as a standalone router, it must be used with an existing router which supports mesh networking. If your router does not support mesh then it will not be compatible.

Q: 10. Does it include a mounting bracket?

A: Yes, the Ubiquiti Networks WiFi 6 Pro Dual-Band Access Point includes a wall and ceiling mounting kit.
