The CBS250-24PP-4G is equipped with an 800 MHz ARM processor and 512MB of memory, which work to deliver smooth and reliable data transfers with a 56 Gb/s switching capacity and 41.66 Mpps forwarding rate

The 24 PoE+ compliant Gigabit Ethernet ports support up to 30W of power each, with a total budget of 100W to operate advanced surveillance cameras, videophones, thin client devices, and more.

Segment your network into separate workgroups and communicate across VLANs without degrading application performance, which allows you to manage your switch's internal routing and dedicate your router to external traffic and security to help your network run efficiently.

With a sleek and compact 1 RU design, the CBS250-24PP-4G can fit into wiring closets and other installations within retail stores, offices, and other businesses.

Support for the Energy Efficient Ethernet (IEEE 802.3az) standard helps to significantly reduce energy consumption by monitoring the amount of traffic an active link receives and putting it to sleep during down times.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do you know if the AV Line M4250-10G2XF-PoE+ (GSM4212PX) will connect to my laptop at 2.5gbps using the SFP+ Port? Thanks!

A: Most laptops do not have SFP+ ports, but if you have a means to connect to the SFP+ port then you will be able to achieve speeds up to 10 gbps.

Q: 2. Can this power on the Ubiquiti EdgeRouter X via one of its POE interfaces?

A: Even if it physically could, I really wouldn't and would run all switching equipment on dedicated power from a proper power supply.

Q: 3. is this TAA compliant?

A: The Cisco CBS350-24FP-4G 24-Port Gigabit PoE+ Compliant Managed Switch with SFP (370W), BH #CIS35024FP4G, is not TAA compliant.

Q: 4. Can I run normal CAT5/6 cable from one of the SFP ports to another router/switch's RJ45 port?

A: An Ethernet cable cannot be inserted directly into an SFP fiber port. You would require an adapter such as BH #TPTLSM5310T to facilitate that connection.

Q: 5. If I have 4 cameras coming in via NDI, this should power them and take 1 outbound ethernet to an NDI switcher and it will work?

A: It would depend on the power consumption, NDI version, resolution and frame rate. Considering the 240W PoE+ power budget and max wattage of 30W for PoE+ devices, the Netgear AV Line M4250 GSM4212PX 8-Port Gigabit PoE+ Compliant Managed AV Switch with SFP (240W) should provide enough power for the cameras. Bandwidth would be the biggest issue. If you are using full Bandwidth NDI, transmitting 4K signal at 60 FPS from each camera, your Ethernet connection going to the NDI switcher may not have enough bandwidth for all 4 signals. If you are using lower bandwidth NDI such as HX3 or a lower resolution, such as 1080p, your single Etherenet connection to the NDI switcher should be sufficient.

Q: 6. Will this device power 8 POE+ ports at 15w each? Or only 3 b/c it’s 45w power budget? If 3, which device will power 8 x 15w?

A: That is correct, the Ubiquiti Networks UniFi Lite 16-Port Gigabit PoE+ Compliant Managed Switch (BH #UBSLITE16POE) supports three RJ45 ports at 15W simultaneously. For your use case, the Ubiquiti Networks UniFi Switch Enterprise 8 8-Port 2.5Gb PoE+ Compliant Managed Network Switch with SFP+ (BH #UBUSWENPRS8P) would be a good alternative to consider, as it can output 15W of power from 8 of it's RJ45 ports simultaneously.

Q: 7. can you configure maximum bandwidth for individual ports?

A: Haven't tried that

Q: 8. Is there a rackmount kit for this switch?

A: Unfortunately, we do not have a rack mount kit for the Netgear AV Line M4250 GSM4210PD 8-Port Gigabit PoE+ Compliant Managed AV Switch with SFP (110W) BH #NEGSM4210PD.

Q: 9. Does this have to be used for connecting computers to the internet? I want to use it for connecting multiple BMD 4K monitors to 1 computer.

A: the switch is just for Ethernet! So you can use this to connect to the Ethernet ports of the BMD 4k but that will NOT give you any video signal. That is done via the SDI connection. The Ethernet is just for control and monitoring of the monitors. Bottom line You do not use this for video.

Q: 10. Can anyone tell me if this is universal voltage or is it 120 only?

A: The Netgear AV Line M4250 GSM4212UX 8-Port Gigabit PoE++ Compliant Managed AV Switch with SFP+ (720W) is multi-voltage (100-240V, 50-60 Hz).
