The Avenger C622 Small Universal Head Extension allows you to add a riser, Junior stand extension or offset arm to a Junior light stand (1 1/8" female). A 5/8" pin is also built into the C622 to add a Baby (5/8") extension or to provide a 5/8" pin for Junior stands without universal heads.

A: Hi JamesThe closed length is 49 but you can unscrew and remove the counterweight hook on the end which brings the length to 47 . That's how I carry it. Hope this answer helps.

A: The functionality is virtually identical. Cosmetically, the black will scratch more readily.

A: Nope...it has it's open 5/8 receiver. So as long as you have a sturdy C-stand, you're good to go. A drop pin adds some extra versatility and Safety cables are always advised. Both are cheap add-ons.
