Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this made of metal or plastic?

A: The lens is made from a metal alloy.

Q: 2. Does it have that dreamy vintage lens look?

A: Vintage lenses do not have the advantages of the latest lens design, latest materials for glass, and latest sophisticated coatings. This lens has been built like a vintage lens. Doing so has allowed it to be built with what is not considered imperfections such a flare, vignetting, barrel distortion, and softness with a wide open aperture. Therefore this indeed has that vintage lens dreamy look.

Q: 3. There is another 7artisians lens which does not have "Photoelectric" in the title, can you explain what this is?

A: The Photoelectric in 7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f/1.2 Mark II Lens for FUJIFILM X does not have any special meaning. All the lenses we have carry this name. This is simply part of their brand name.

Q: 4. For Sony FE, will the 52mm still be at f1.2?

A: Yes, the maximum aperture will remain at f/1.2.

Q: 5. Can this lens be attached to Leica M 4-P body? I've red that frame lines selector blocks proper fitting lens to camera body?

A: No, it is not recommended to use the 7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f/2 Mark II Lens for Leica M with the Leica M3 or the M4-P. The frame selector switch can hit the lens.

Q: 6. can this lens be used on Fuji X-pro3?

A: Yes, the 7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f/1.2 Mark II Lens for FUJIFILM X is compatible on the X-pro3. Note it is a manual lens. It does not support autofocus

Q: 7. Anyone own this and the TT 35mm f1.4? Which do you like better?

A: The TTArtisan 35mm f/1.4 Lens for FUJIFILM X would be better if you need a shorter minimum focusing distance. Otherwise both lenses are excellent in terms of low light performance and sharpness.

Q: 8. Hola is compatibility with Nikon d7100

A: No. This is for the Nikon Z-series Z-mount cameras (yours if an F-mount camera), such as the Z50 / Z5 / Z6 / Z6 II / Z7 / Z7 II.

Q: 9. What are the dimensions of the lens?

A: This lens is about 2 1/2 inches in diameter at its widest point. And about 2 inches in height.

Q: 10. Smooth or clicking aperture ring?

A: This 7 Artisans 35mm f/1.2 Mark II lens has a smooth aperture ring.

I enjoy shooting with this lens on my Fuji xPro 3. It's taken some time to learn how best to manually focus, but it's slowed my photography and I've had fun with it. Optically it's quite sharp in the middle, when you nail focus, especially when stopped down. Basically it shoots and feels like an adapted vintage lens, but it's compact like those lens originally were, not with the large adapters needed to make them work.
I would buy again.

I bought it to use in my XPro2, the size and weight are perfect for it, just a little smaller than the Fujinon 23mm f2 All metallic, good finishes. The diaphragm ring has clicks, they are smooth but firm, the focus ring has a comfortable round The few photos I shot show good quality, at large apertures you can see some loss of sharpness in the corners, but it is not exaggerated. Considering its price, it is an excellent alternative in this type of lens
