Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. With the Leica Q I notice that the essential handgrip can be at odds with the O ring on the provided strap. Will the handgrip fit with this strap? Is this strap really better than the standard issue?

A: Not a problem - plenty of clearance

Q: 2. Is there a reason this won’t work on a DSLR, such as the Nikon D850?

A: according the the specs, it shall work.

Q: 3. Can it fit a D-Lux Type 109?What's the difference with the Leica leather neck strap that's advertised for a D-Lux 109?

A: This is very similar expect for the way it connects with the camera. That is why this one is made for TL or T Leica cameras that have a different way of connecting a strap than the D-Lux cameras.

Q: 4. How does the strap compare in thickness to the Artisan & Artist rope straps?

A: This strap has a wide of 1.6" compared to Artisan & Artist which can be 0.3" or higher depending on the model.

Q: 5. Is this the same strap that ships with the M10?

A: Sorry, I've already answered my own question. It is not the same.

Q: 6. Would this fit the Leica M Typ 240? Thank-you

A: Yes, it will work on the M Typ 240 body.

Q: 7. On YouTube, they show this bag with a zipper in the back. Does it have a zipper?

A: The Oberwerth Q Bag (Lavender) does not feature a zipper on any of the pockets. The bag is designed with a secure German-made Loxx snap closures.

Q: 8. How does this attach to the strap ring?

A: With the included split rings for eyelets.

Q: 9. Can the extra neck padding slide along the strap, can it be removed? I am looking for a leather strap that i can easily twirl around my wrist to hold the camera. The rubber padding of the strap that comes with the camera is glued in place and gets on the way when i twist the strap around my risk. Thank you in advance for your response

A: Yes, on my sample, the leather pad is free to move from side-to-side, along the narrower main strap. Complete removal could be difficult, because the pad can't slide past the place where the strap attaches to the camera. For complete removal of the pad, it seems the pad needs must be cut off with scissors, or a knife. Bear in mind the current strap may not be quite the same as my strap, because more than a year has passed since I bought it.

Q: 10. Does this Oberwerth Mosel offer cut protection?

A: Yes, it does through a special fiber integrated into the strap

used to be a neck strap kind of person till I started using peak design capture camera clips more. Now I don't find the neck strap necessary as much. These wrist straps are beautiful! A little stiff when you first receive them, but after 1 wedding day of shoot, the leather breaks in beautifully and it's extremely comfortable.

Unsure about spending this amount of money for bag but it really compliments the small nature of Leica systems. I am fitting a M11, 28,50 and 75mm lenses and VisoFlex2 in a compact bag. Really happy with ease of closures and soft leather.

I own two of these straps. One is on a Hexar AF, the other on a Fuji X100. It is very well made and comfortable. The leather cynch stays in place well to secure the strap to the wrist. The shape is also excellent, wide around the wrist to give lots of comfort. Highly recommended.

I absolutely love this leather strap for my Fujifilm x100f! It fits my wrist and camera perfectly. It looks good and smells great! Who doesn't love a vintage look with the classic scent of leather?! The strap has fast use ergonomics, is a very smooth texture, feels comfortable, and fits all the way up past my elbow with an adjustable tightener. Excellent build quality, and I can see this strap lasting a long time.

This is a quality bag. The leather is very soft but very durable. My
M11-P + 35/1.4 and even my 90/2 Summicron fit just right including a RRS L-bracket. There are small square and rectangular pads which provide support under the lens and the mounted VisoFlex 2. Sufficient room for another 2 lenses and small things. Comfortable to wear when walking around. No problem with the locks. Overall a great bag for the Leica M11 system

Before this I had only used Lucky straps out of Australia. This is at least as good if not better.

This is my second Ona Kyoto hand strap.
I still have the first one, in Cognac. It served its purpose well for several years, but was getting a little long in the tooth.
So I replaced it with a root beer color one.
I expect to get several more years of use.
I have many kinds of wrist straps, having switched to them about a decade ago. Peak Design, Barbershop, Op Tech, and several others.
I like the Ona best, It is one of the least bulky, yet one of the strongest. I can make it tight or loose with the one adjustable part.
Like most wrist straps, it doesn't take up much room in the bag.
Its leather gets better looking with use, and doesn't get all sweaty like some materials.
Like most fine quality products, it may cost a little more, but not too much. And most of all, I don't worry about the strap breaking and the camera falling.
I have it attached to my Fujifilm H1, with an extended wooden grip and usually a 18-135 zoom lens. Not a light kit.
When I had my Nikon D750, I used a heavier paracord hand strap, that seemed to go with it, but not with my present Fujifilm cameras.
I wholeheartedly recommend the Ona strap for anything less than a full frame Pro beast.

I just purchased a Canon M6 Mark ii camera and decided to purchase a leather camera wrist strap,I like the strap very much, and it does what it’s supposed to do ,the quality is very good, and hopefully it would last for a long time. But like I said in my headline, it is way overpriced for what you get.
