When I learned that my new Nikon 62mm Snap-On Lens Cap was en route to my abode using the UPS tracking site, I was rigid with joyful anticipation knowing that I would soon be able to properly cover the front element of my macro lens with this inspired, variable-geometry, center pinch-grip lens cap, emblazoned with the same brand as my lens and camera with its aggressive, forward-leaning block type.

I have used the straps that have adhesive to attach to the lens cap, but due to pressures in the camera bag, the adhesive tends to migrate over time to the edge of the lens cap and eventually comes off. This lens camp has a place where the strap can attach to the lens cap and not come off. The lens cap is otherwise virtually identical to my Sony cap.

I use Nikon snap caps not just on my Nikon lenses but also on my non-Nikon (Fujifilm XF) lenses whenever I can get them in the right sizes. They are well made (much better than the generic or off-brand copycats), they are easy to take off and put on even with a lens hood, and they stay put. They are well worth the money.
