The white Shure ULXD6/C is a digital tabletop transmitter equipped with a cardioid boundary mic and compatible with ULX-D receivers. The cardioid polar pattern focuses audio capture in front of the mic and rejects much of the off-axis ambient noise, great for picking up one speaker or allowing two panelists sitting next to each other at a large table to share a single mic. The unit's low profile is ideal for applications such as video-conferencing where minimum visibility is required. A smart choice for situations where wired mics are impractical, this tabletop transmitter enables quick setup and tear down, and can be put away in a docking station (available separately) for storing and charging when the mic is not in use..

With rugged, yet lightweight plastic housing, the ULXD6/C transmitter delivers pristine 24-bit/48 kHz audio quality and RF performance over its entire 330' range. It offers AES 256-bit encryption for secure transmission and advanced rechargeability options, making it suitable for use in large meetings at conference and convention centers.

  • The mute button that can be configured for momentary or push-on/push-off operation, with a bicolor LED indicating the mute status.
  • The unit quickly syncs with a wireless receiver via infrared at the touch of a button.
  • The high-pass filter reduces low-frequency noise caused by table vibration or air-conditioning systems.
  • A power lockout function disables the power switch and prevents accidental changes during events.
  • 1/10/20mW selectable RF output power allows you to increase either the transmitter's range or the number of mics operating simultaneously.
  • Low latency makes the ULXD6 ideal for meetings that require live sound reinforcement.
  • The transmitter is compatible with the full line of Shure's antenna-distribution components.

  • The unit operates for up to 8 hours and 40 minutes on two AA batteries.
  • An optional Shure SB900A lithium-ion rechargeable battery pack offers intelligent power management with over 9 hours of battery life, precision metering in hours and minutes, and zero memory effect.
  • A USB port allows for docked battery charging with the SBC450 (4-bay) and SBC850 (8-bay) networked charging stations (available separately).
  • The charging stations enable remote power monitoring via Shure's Wireless Workbench software.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What are the cable's connections?

A: The MX396 is supplied without a connector. Typically, an installer will use phoenix block-type connectors or XLR connectors on the cable. It is OK to separate the cable wires out to three separate XLR connectors.

Q: 2. is any of the three available frequency bands less vulnerable to interference? I want to use them in a deposition setting that changes from day to day from high end conference rooms to witnesses homes.

A: I can't speak to the 3 different band versions, but I can say that each version has a wide array of sub-bands you can choose from. Further more, the receiver has a function where you can have it select the sub-band with the least amount of interference -- it scans every band and then sets itself to the cleanest one. You then just set the transmitter to match. It has worked very well for me.

Q: 3. Can both of the microphones work at the same time? Can you connect additional bodypack transmitters, and run all of them at the same time?

A: The Shure BLX188/CVL Dual-Channel is what is known as a dual channel system. You get 2 mic's but 1 receiver with 2 outputs. Yes you are supposed to use both mic's at the same time. That is the purpose of the system. You cannot expand on the system.

Q: 4. Is the Beta91A manufactured in Mexico or China ?

A: The Shure Beta 91A Boundary Microphone is manufactured in Mexico.

Q: 5. This says "antenna diversity" so how does that compare to true diversity?

A: The Shure BLX188/CVL Dual-Channel Wireless Cardioid Lavalier Microphone System only specifies "microprocessor-controlled internal antenna diversity" but does not get more specific on the type of diversity implemented. This article provides a good explanation of the differences in diversity types: https://bit.ly/3J80yOw

Q: 6. Do these work with the paddle antennas to get more range or help with interference?

A: No, the Shure BLX88 receiver included with the Shure BLX188/CVL Dual-Channel Wireless Cardioid Lavalier Microphone System has built-in internal antennas and is not able to connect to external antennas. For this option, you will want to consider using the Shure BLX4R, SLX-D, QLX-D, and ULX-D series receivers.

Q: 7. is there a broadcast delay when turning the tx unit on? I do not see a specific mute switch.

A: Thanks all. Looking forward to adding this mic to our mix.

Q: 8. Can I buy several sets on two different bands for 12 mics all working at the same time a?

A: Yes you can use 3 systems of the Shure BLX188/CVL in one band and 3 in another band to be able to use 12 mics at the same time without their signals interfering.

Q: 9. Could I buy two receivers, put them in adjacent rooms then switch channels on the transmitter to switch between the receivers?

A: Yes, if you have two Shure BLX4R Rackmount Wireless Receivers tuned to different frequencies, you would be able to connect one Shure BLX1 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter to either receiver alternately.

Q: 10. Is this an updated model to the Sony UTX-M03?

A: The UTX-M40 transmitter is a new model from Sony's UWP-D series while the UTX-M03 transmitter is from the older UWP series.
