CAME-TV put together this Boltzen B-30S Focusable 30W Fresnel Bi-Color LED Three-Light Travel Kit to offer you a basic lighting kit with color control, beam spread control, and battery options. The kit includes three Boltzen 30W Bi-Color fixtures, each with barndoors, a power adapter, a D-Tap cable, a milky white filter, and a soft filter. A foam insert is included for storage and transport.

Q: 1. Do these lights work with the NP-F975 battery that is a recommended accessory, or do you have to connect to a V-mount battery via the D-Tap cable?

A: They work with either NP-F type or V-mount batteries, or the included AC adapters. The NP-F type battery plugs directly into the back of the light. The V-mount attaches using the included D-tap cable and optional CAME-TV V-Lock Plate with Clamp. I use V-mount batteries because they last a lot longer and the weight is at the bottom of the stand, so it's much more stable. For example the Watson NP-F975 will last around 105 minutes each, whereas my 165 wH V-mount batteries will last 5 hours each. With 2 V-mount batteries for each light, I can leave them on for 10 hours, which means I never have to worry about charging on set. Also with the weight of 2 V-mount batteries at the bottom of each stand, I rarely need to use sandbags.

Q: 2. What is the main difference in these compared to the other sets?

A: The CAME-TV Boltzen Q-55S 55W Bi-Color LED Fresnel 3-Light Kit (B&H# CAQ55S3) differs from these. . . CAME-TV Boltzen Q-55S Focusable 55W Fresnel Bi-Color LED 2-Light Kit (B&H# CAQ55S2) and CAME-TV Boltzen B-55S Focusable 55W Fresnel Bi-Color LED 2-Light Kit with Batteries (B&H# CAQ55S4B) . . . because those kits have just two lights. One of those kits comes with batteries, too, whereas the CAME-TV Boltzen Q-55S 55W Bi-Color LED Fresnel 3-Light Kit (B&H# CAQ55S3) does not. These take "Sony L-series compatible batteries" (very commonly yet erroneously called "Sony NP-F batteries") or many large batteries (e.g. most "V-Mount batteries"), examples of which are given in the Accessories section of this product webpage or by searching for those terms using the search bar on the B&H website.

A: As per the manufacturer, the CRI on this LED fresnel is 96. However, they only offer the output measurement in lux which is 4200 lux at 1m.

Q: 6. How long will it run (at full power) on a one standard NP battery?

A: At Full power, 2 Sony batteries will run 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

Q: 7. Does this light come with the AC adapter? If not which adapter should I use with this light?

A: It does include AC adapters but not batteries. Those youll need to supply yourself. Nice little lights.

This thing is great, I ran it for about 2 hours on 50% and did not hear the fan at all, only mildly warm on top. I got a super cheap softbox with it and so far very impressed. I do wish the mount was a little better made, even with the small softbox it sags a little but could not be happier with the light, at $200 , plus the v-mount plate for free, I can't really beat it for this much light output ! Going to make a huge difference. 5

I love the SmallRig products, I ordered the 120D LED Monolight to add to my video kit. I pulled the light out yesterday to use and found it to be very easy to use, great build quality as well. 5

I have a Godox 200 with a Godox 47 softbox. I needed another light but not necessarily as much power. Smallrig had the right amount of power at a good price. This light consumes 150W. My Godox is consumes 200W. Close enough for me. I also bought the Godox 37 softbox. Both smaller and easy to work with when I don't need quite so much light. 5
