Q: 4. Given a rating scale of 1-10, ten being best: How good of a product is this? Durable? Practical? Ive looked at better models that cost $400-$600, but dont feel I need to spend that much for this type of accessory gear. Can you provide some input about this product? Is it a high seller item?

A: Dot Line offers tremendous value. The DL-V7 is a great example of an entry level product suitable for beginners or for the casual or occasional user. Q: 5. What shoe cord did they use to achieve the dual TTL light setup in the photo? The shoe cord has a pass through TTL on top?

A: Off camera shoe cords cannot figure out TTL with two different flashes at two different places at the same time. So it never pass through TTL on top if you have two flashes. In a situation like that it needs to be setup via manual exposure. A cord like this Energizer was used: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1005408-REG/energizer_ene_ttlu_multi_fit_ttl_flash_cord.html I would recommend using a radio flash trigger and using a flash that has a radio receiver built in. This way you can have two flashes running TTL at the same time and you don't need a cord between them since radio is wireless.

Q: 6. What is the duration of the flash? In flash mode is the light turned on for 1/30th second for example, or is it shorter?

It seems like a lot of folks have been using squeegees wrong for a long time. You do not just crunch down on them- it shouldn't make a fun sound when you run the squeegee along the film surface.

It's simple: soak the squeegee in warm (not hot), preferably distilled, water for at least a few minutes. Then when you've got the film ready GENTLY run the squeegee down the film, there's not need to *squeeze* the film, you're just inviting damage- we're removing water not trying to draw blood. that's it. A couple passes in both directions and let the film dry normally from there.

I recently switched to this squeegee after using a sponge squeegee for a couple years. I didn't have too many complaints about the sponge aside from it's ability to collect dust and redistribute it. This feels like it's easier to clean and maintain in the long run.

I shoot and develop hundreds of rolls of film a year. I have this Dot Line squeegee as well as the top competitor. This one does a better job and never scratches my film. If you’re trying to decide I would go with the Dot Line.

This is a great product. It will be very useful for the Pagosa Springs, Colorado, historical society to clean up, restore, and preserve their historical negatives and get them printed for display in their museum. The only problem is that the second order for cleaning the large quantity of negatives is hung up at B&H waiting to receive the film clips part of the order that are needed to hang the negatives without causing any damage to the negatives. If you are developing film and you don't have one of these, buy it now! Makes drying so much faster. Build quality is excellent for the price.

Ben is right. You MUST soak the squeegee in warm water before you use it! When I develop film, I prepare Ilford's wet agent solution ahead of time, and I have the squeegee floating in it. When I'm done rinsing, I pour the wetting agent into the tank, agitate for 10 seconds, drain it and then run the squeegee twice in both directions. I have never, ever seen a single scratch. It shortens the drying time significantly: it's basically one dog walk for me now, i.e. I hang the film to dry, I walk my dog, I get home and start scanning.

I was hesitant to try out the rubber version instead of the sponge version, but it worked great! I've used it on about 10 rolls of 120 now and there are no scratches at all. I did read a recommendation that you should wet it before you use it on your film, so I have been doing it that way. Works great!

Helps remove water, but not all of the water. Works well with photo flow.
