Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use this extension tube on my Panasonic GH3?

A: Unfortunately, the Olympus EX-25 Extension Tube is not compatible with the Panasonic GH3. The GH3 has the micro four thirds mount, while the EX-25 has the four thirds mount, which are different mounts. For the GH3, you could use any of the extension tubes for micro four thirds cameras on the following link. http://bhpho.to/1cqhXir

Q: 2. How close can I focus with the EF 85mm f/1.8 USM lens and this extension tube? How exactly can you quantify the effect of the tube?

A: From the manufacturer, The EF 12 II extension tube changes the minimal focal distance to the EF 85mm f/1.8 USM to 85cm. There is no way to quantify the effect of the extension tube.

Q: 3. Can I use this with the EOS R and the EF 100mm 2.8? As the lense is already adapted to the camera.

A: Yes.

Q: 4. If the purpose of the Canon EF 25 II is to shorten closest focusing distance and the Canon EF 400 f/5.6 L USM's closest focusing distance is 11.5 ft. By adding the EF 25 II to this lens how many feet is the extension tube reducing the focusing distance by?

A: You can Focus anywhere from 6-7' instead of 11.5' (But you lose infinity focus, I would say maximum 20' anything after that full blur) I use it only for control environments...

Q: 5. I have an E-620 Olympus with Zuiko Digital 14-45mm & 40-150mm lenses. Can this extension work with these lenses?

A: As far I know, yes. I used this on an E3 and an E500.All Olympus full size 4/3 bodies have the same lens mount

Q: 6. Does this come with the rubber seal cover? (SCNAC-MPX)

A: Yes, it comes with a cover, https://bit.ly/3gdwhS4

Q: 7. Is the Canon EF 25 II Extension Tube compatible with my Canon 17-55 mm F/2.8 IS USM lens? Will it give me the ability to use auto focus and image stabilization with this extension tube or will I lose that ability?

A: This extension tube has full Auto focus capabilities; that's what all the pins are for they allow communication between your camera and lens. The image stabilization isn't depended on the extension tube. It's set separately on the lens. I am not sure why you want to use an extension tube on a wide-angle lens. Extension Tubes are usually used on telephoto lenses, allowing them to focus closer, and on macro lenses to gain some extra magnification. The whole point of an extension tube is to decrease the minimum focusing distance of a lens, and gain a little more magnification. A wide-angle lens inherently has a close focusing distance already, and normally you are shooting wide, and don't need any magnification, because if 35 mm is close enough, just zoom in to 55 mm. You have both abilities, but there really not usable on your lens. If you had a 600 mm lens, then this extension tube would be a good accessory to have.

Q: 8. Will this fit and work well on my Olympus OM-D E-M1?

A: The Olympus EX-25 Extension Tube will not work with micro 4/3 cameras such as the Olympus OM-D E-M1. This extension tube is designed to specifically be used with Olympus 4/3 DSLR cameras.

Q: 9. How is this extension going to affect my 24-105 f4, mounted on a 5D mk II? I will be doing jewelry photography and trying to figure out if I need to invest in a macro lens vs modifying the one mentioned above. Thank you! Still figuring it all out, I hope the question makes sense :)

A: This extension tube will allow you to focus closer. The minimum focus distance of the 25-105 f/4 lens is about 17 . With this extension tube you should be able to focus at about 4-5 . That would be at 24 mm.

Q: 10. Can the Canon tubes be stacked?

A: Yes, they can be stacked. I have used a 12 mm tube with a 25 mm tube, or two 25 mm tubes together. It is important to know that you'll lose the ability to focus to infinity. You'll gain the ability to focus closer than your lens's minimum focusing distance. You'll get some magnification as well. Generally, you might do this for macro work, or use combinations with large telephoto lens to focus closer to capture small birds for example.

Brings you in close as close. A tiny ant filled over 1/3 of the image. Must be very close to focus. approx 3 inches. No noise when added to the 50mm.

Love the way this works with my macro lens and gives a 1:1 ratio.

I was very pleased to discover the quality of the Ex-25: the build quality is perfect. As owner of a E-510 and 40-150 (kit lens) it opens the world of macro and i enjoy it very much. In good light condition i can even use it in auto-focus mode. I really recommend it. Next buy another lens (50-200) that I certainly will use with the Ex-25.

use this with my Olympus 50mm macro lens for which it was designed for, so it enables you to use all the auto settings if you choose to do so. works as advertised, no light lose or distortions at the edges. a well made accessory, and worth the money if you're into any phase of close up photography. the only draw back i've encountered is that under certain low light conditions you will need to have a ring light flash or some other sorce of extra light...a tripod of some kind is also a must.
