Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this cord work with rode video mic pro+? I lost mine.

A: If connecting your Video Mic Pro+ to a camera you need this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1409621-REG/rode_sc2_3_5mm_trs_patch_cable.html?sts=pi-ps&pim=Y If using with a smartphone then it's this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1048152-REG/rode_sc7_trrs_iphone_cable_for.html

Q: 2. There is a bump in the cable. What is it for?

A: It is a capacitor that helps eliminate any interference/noise picked up along the cble.

Q: 3. Will this join audio from 2 sources (INPUT 2 stereo output 1 stereo = 2 audio into single stereo output) not seeking 4 pole, microphone couplers?

A: No, the StarTech 3.5mm TRRS Stereo Female to 2 3.5mm TRS Stereo Male Y Cable (5.1") BH #STMUYHSFMM will simply split a single headset 4 pole connection to 2 x 3.5mm for computers that have the old connections which had mic and output in two separate jacks.

Q: 4. Will this extend a Rode SC-9 TRRS cable to work with a Rodecaster Pro?

A: Yes, that should extend the SC9 TRRS cable.

Q: 5. How long is the cable?

A: 20 feet

Q: 6. Does this work with the new Video Mic NTG? Will it connect my NTG to my A7iii?

A: Yes, the SC1 cable is compatible with the Rode VideoMic NTG and A7III camera.

Q: 7. Could this split the stereo from Saramonic uwmic into two separate mono channels, then into my Zoom H6?

A: This Sescom Y cable #SES-IPSUMTS12IN will not work for the desired application because the wiring on the 1/8 TRRS is designed for a smartphone mic input and the 1/4 TS leads would force you to plug into the Zoom's line inputs bypassing the mic preamps. Theoretically, you could achieve separation of the two channels via the one stereo output if, and only if the Saramonic provides a true stereo output with each transmitter assigned to either the tip and the ring respectively. A special cable would have to be made featuring a locking TRS 1/8 male connector on one end, and two XLR male leads on the other.

Q: 8. will this work with a cell phone?

A: It depends what it is being used for, but TRRS is usually for a cell phone

Q: 9. will this work as a R/S cable for v-raptor with 3-pin fisher break outs?

A: The OCTAMAS gear 3.5mm TRRS to 3-Pin RS Trigger Cable (11.8") is not compatible with the RED V-Raptor.

Q: 10. Will this work with the new Rode Video Mic NTG and Sony a7iii?

A: Yes it will

I used this cable to extend a table microphone 20 for the Cisco SX-10 unit. The TRRS allows the microphone light to continue working. The microphone appears to pick up the audio just fine with no indications of voltage drop impacting the microphone.

If you're going to do any kind of greenscreen work, or anything that will require you to have some distance to your camera, you'll need this extension cable. It's sturdy yet flexible and has little to no z noise.

Worked for our recording. No noticeable distortion. The cable is light, and is best suited for indoor applications where it can be placed away from foot traffic.

I had bought a less expensive cable that resulted in a terrible echo in my recording. This cable produced perfect audio.
