Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there a longer version of this cable? Or a way to extend? I'm trying to use this with DJI Osmo Mobile and it is too short and restricts the movement of the gimbal.

A: I use this with the regular Osmo where the phone is the monitor. Unfortunately, I think any cable you try and use directly with the phone on the gimbal is not going to work because it will mess up the balance, even if it is longer.

Q: 2. Work with rode videomicro to camera or phone?

A: No, the SC10 cable is not compatible with the VideoMicro which has a standard 3.5mm TRS output. The SC10 will work with the VideoMic NTG. For the VideoMicro, you can use the Rode SC7 (B&H # ROSC7) which has a standard 3.5mm TRS connector on one side and connects to the mic's output and a 3.5mm TRRS connector on the other side to connect to a smartphone. The cable that comes with the VideoMicro is the SC2 (B&H # ROSC2) and it has standard 3.5mm TRS connectors on both ends, This is the cable to use for connecting the VideoMicro to cameras and recorders.

Q: 3. Can this be used between an iPhone 13 Pro and Rode Wireless Go ll microphone system?

A: Yes, the Movo Photo IMA-3 Female 3.5mm TRRS to Right-Angle Lightning Microphone Adapter Cable can be used to connect the Rode Wireless GO II receiver's output signal to the Lightning input of an iPhone.

Q: 4. Can this also be used as a headphone jack?

A: It should also be able to be used as a headphone output.

Q: 5. Does this cord work with rode video mic pro+? I lost mine.

A: If connecting your Video Mic Pro+ to a camera you need this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1409621-REG/rode_sc2_3_5mm_trs_patch_cable.html?sts=pi-ps&pim=Y If using with a smartphone then it's this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1048152-REG/rode_sc7_trrs_iphone_cable_for.html

Q: 6. There is a bump in the cable. What is it for?

A: It is a capacitor that helps eliminate any interference/noise picked up along the cble.

Q: 7. Can this be used with Android devices such as Galaxy Note 4 or Galaxy Tab S2?

A: Yes it can be use.

Q: 8. Hello, Can I use this with 2016 MacBook Pro running Mojave? I would like to use my Rode Video mic go. Thank you

A: Yes you can use the Rode SC7 cable with a Rode Videomic Go into a Macbook Pro.

Q: 9. Will this connect an iPhone to a Comtek transmitter?

A: That would depend on the model of Comtek Transmitter. If wanting to send audio from the iPhone to a transmitter such as a m-216, you would not want this cable, but rather a standard stereo mini cable such as BH #KOCMXRC30B.

Q: 10. Is this the cable that comes with the rode video micro? I lost that one and I think its a different cable. I need it for my sony a6500 not my phone.

A: It appears that the SC2 cable is included with the video micro. The SC7 3.5mm TRS to TRRS is a Patch Cable from Rode and is designed to allow you to connect the output from Rode's VideoMicro to a TRRS device, such as an iPhone, iPad, or a smartphone.

The rode SC7 adapter is a great product if you are a content creator/photographer/film maker using a smart phone to capture your photos or videos. The SC7 adapter allows the TRRS (three-ring coil) to connect your smart phone to your lavalier/wireless mics. Note if using smart phones with a lightning style charging connection be sure to have the lightning to headphone jack adapter since newer versions of iphones and androids do not have the traditional headphone jack. Over all great product that offers a good alternative to use smart phones as main source of capturing content.

I was burning brain cells trying to figure out why my iPhone 14 pro max wouldnt connect with my rode wireless go 2. Came across a thread that led me to this wonderful coiled cord and solved every issue. Now if only my iPhone would play back sound through its own speakers after recording without having to unplug this thing. That's a phone issue tho

NICO, and anyone else that thinks they have the incorrect cable for their iPhone you're wrong... you have the correct cable for it, but there are two pieces you will need... you need the rode sc7, and the headphone to lightning cable adapter for iPhone. Connect those two pieces and you're good to go. I don't know why rode just doesn't make a single cable for the iPhone. I guess Apple won't allow it because they don't get a cut from it... smh. And if you have the DJI action 2 you will need the sc16 usbC to usbC... hope this helps!!
