Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. To be able to hit 7 cameras with the one XLR output, do you just passively split the signal, e.g. jumper a set of jacks on a patch panel together? Or how do you hit multiple?

A: This is a very specialized product. You may want to call up Marshall directly at (310) 333-0606 for assistance wiring it out.

Q: 2. Is this compatible with a Sony a7rv?

A: Yes, the SONY A7RV is supported for control and balancing when using the Manfrotto MVG300XM Modular Gimbal. Please note that the Sony A7RV would use the SONY A7RIV setup process. Tested camera chart - https://bit.ly/3E740sh

Q: 3. How can I get camera control with this gimbal for popular Nikon cameras such as D750? It does not include Nikon DC2 cable.

A: The Nikon D750 is not listed as tested or supported with the Manfrotto MVG300XM Modular Gimbal. Supported cameras: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/787194.pdf

Q: 4. Is this a 'good fit' for the RODE Blimp2 ?

A: Yes, this will be a good fit with the Blimp II.

Q: 5. How do you convert the controller for fiber use?

A: So you need to convert both the sdi signal and data signal to a fiber signal. I prefer using a Thor 1-Channel Mini HD-SDI Single-Mode Fiber Optic Extender Kit for each Marshall Camera, but that is just me. It mux’s both signals to one fiber and demux’s at the other end. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Q: 6. Does it communicate with cameras the way that the zhyun cranes do allowing for camera settings and record/photos to be taken from the gymbal?

A: Yes. The gimbal comes with the camera control cables. The camera control cables will allow you to start/stop recording, take photos, and other control other camera settings.

Q: 7. " . . .select popular cameras from other brands." Does that list include the Canon C300 MK II?

A: Not that we are aware of. This product is not compatible with the C300 Mark II.

Q: 8. can the bmpcc 6k pro balance well?

A: Unit holds up well but suggest using a system that can support a heavier payload 7.5lbs Please review the following unit Manfrotto Gimbal 460 Kit BH #MAMVG460 • MFR #MVG460 https://bhpho.to/3uOGiLH

Q: 9. Does this include any kin of a case? Also, what is the recommended charger? I see that one is not included.

A: The Manfrotto MVG300XM Modular Gimbal does come with a case. One can use most any USB charger to charge this gimbal. A good option would be the Xcellon Mighty Mini 365 3-Port 65W GaN USB Charger, BH #XCPDG365B (https://bhpho.to/3CoGgh4).

Q: 10. The MVG300XM supports the Canon EOS R5c. How would this camera gimbal combo be configured for 8K video while the camera and gimbal are connected via the accessory USB-C cable?

A: You will only be able to record up to 8K 30P internally without an external power source. Since the USB-C port is already being used to connect the camera to the Manfrotto MVG300XM Modular Gimbal, you will have to use the Canon DR-E6C DC Coupler for EOS R5 C to power the camera for shooting above 8K 30P. UInfortuantly this may make operation difficult.

I'm new to using a lazer, but considerable experience with wood working. I have experience with CAD software as well. So setting up the machine and getting started has been fairly easy. Using Lightburn s/w has a learning curve, but not too complicated. The results I'm getting are impressive. Very happy with this purchase.
