An excellent choice for portrait photography, this updated YN 42.5mm f/1.7 M II Lens from Yongnuo is an 85mm-equivalent lens designed for the Micro Four Thirds system of mirrorless cameras. The lens contains two ultra-low dispersion elements to control spherical aberrations and distortions for enhanced sharpness and accurate rendering, and a refined STM stepping motor enables fast and quiet autofocusing for both stills and video. Additionally, an AF/MF switch on the barrel allows you to quickly switch to manual focusing if needed. Featuring a bright maximum aperture of f/1.7, the lens also provides a minimum focusing distance of 11.8". Combine these attributes with the lens's 7-blade diaphragm and you can easily achieve selective focus and bokeh in your photos and portraits.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Is this lens compatible with the new Blackmagic 4K Cinema Pocket Camera?
A: Yes this lens has a micro four thirds mount which is compatible with the Blackmagic 4K but be aware that this is a fully manual lens. (No auto focus or electronic aperture control)
Q: 2. Does this lens accept ND filters?
A: Yes, the AstrHori 10mm f/8 II Lens (Sony E, Black) has a filter thread of 62mm.
Q: 3. I've searched every corner of the internett and no one seems to have asked this question. Will this lens fit on a Canon Eos M?Earlier I read this answer; The Voigtlander Nokton 25mm f/0.95 Type II Lens for Micro Four Thirds is designed for the Micro Four Thirds lens mount. Unfortunately, we have no lens mount adapters that allow you to attach the smaller Micro Four Thirds lens onto the larger Canon EF lens mount. The mount on an Eos M, M2 and M3 are different to the regular EF mounts and are they not Micro Four Thirds?
A: Canon lens mounts are not Micro Four Thirds; the Voightlander lens that you're asking about will not fit on a Canon EO S-M. Sorry.Canon's mirrorless camera uses an APS-C sensor, which is a little larger than the sensors used the M43 cameras from Olympus and Panasonic. What that means is that in addition to the end of the lens that fits it to the camera body not working on a Canon camera body, the field of view of the lens might not cover the sensor. So even if you found a way to fit it to the camera, the corners of your pictures would be dark because the lens is too small for the camera's sensor. Hope that helps. Feel free to reply if my response isn't clear. Bob
Q: 4. Is the focus lock a "hard" lock where the focus ring can no longer be moved? Or is it a soft lock where its just harder to twist the focus?
A: The lens has a focus lock. The lock stops it from focusing.
Q: 5. Does Type II mean it is a new improved version of this lens?
A: Yes, the Type II is the most current, improved version of the Voigtlander Nokton 25mm f/0.95 lens.
Q: 6. What is improved in the Type II version? To simply say that it is improved means nothing. What did they do to it?
A: I am fairly certain the first version of this lens had a stepped aperture only. The newer version allows you to set the aperture to de-clicked mode so f-stop is infinitely adjustable - useful for shooting video. I'm not 100% positive, but I think that's the only change.
Q: 7. If zoom is manual (mechanical), or powered by wire?
A: The Yongnuo 12-35mm f/2.8-4M Lens (Micro Four Thirds) zoom is powered by wire.
Q: 8. will this work on a sony a7s ?
A: I bought mine for a micro 4/3 camera - the Lumix GH3, This particular mount is not compatible with the Sony system.
Q: 9. Will focus peaking on a EM1ii or G85 still work with this lens?
A: I have the GH4 and works excellent i think in your g85will be fine
Q: 10. Can this fit on a Canon R6?
A: I am sorry, the Yongnuo YN 42.5mm f/1.7 M II Lens for Micro Four Thirds will not fit on the Canon R6 and we do not sell any lens mount adapters for this to fit.
