This 112mm Magnetic Quick-Swap Neutral Density 3.0 Filter from Freewell is an ND filter with a 1000x filter factor that provides a 10-stop exposure reduction. The filter's 3.0 density darkens the entire image area without affecting the image's coloration, allowing the photograph to be made with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than is usually required. Widening the aperture allows for finer control over depth-of-field to help isolate the image subject or increase bokeh. Slowing the exposure time increases blur and conveys movement more easily.

Each surface of the filter is multicoated to help eliminate internal ghosting and reflections. In addition, it features a resistance coating to repel oil, dust, and scratches, offering greater protection to the filter when working on location in harsh environments. The coatings are also hydrophobic, resulting in an improved beading effect when in contact with water or oil for easier cleaning and maintenance. The aluminum filter ring also includes 112mm front threads, permitting the use of screw-on filters with 112mm rear threads.

This filter is designed specifically for photography applications. This filter is not suitable for direct solar viewing with the naked eye, including with optical viewfinders.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Compare Kase 82 mm wolverine professional ND filter kit to the master 3 kit and which is concder best buy?

A: The main difference is the Kase Master III Kit (82mm) BH #KA1121050007 • MFR #1121050007 allows you to move the filer up and down. This gives you more control to position the filter. The Kase 82mm Wolverine Magnetic Professional Neutral Density Filter Kit II does not have this option to move it up and down. It is subjective but the new version III is give you the best.

Q: 2. Does KASE make a UV filter that can fit this kit without using threads?

A: No. UV are not available at the given moment.

Q: 3. What is the country of origin for the Kase magnetic filters?

A: The Kase Magnetic filters are manufactured in China.

Q: 4. Will the 82mm version vignette if stacking the CPL with an ND filter on the Canon RF 15-35mm?

A: It is possible that vignetting would occur when using the 82mm version of this Wolverine Magnetic Professional Neutral Density Filter Kit II on the Canon RF 15-35mm Lens.

Q: 5. What are the dimensions of the leather case, not the package it comes in?

A: The dimensions of the pouch are roughly 4.7 x 4.3 x 1.4" / 120 x 110 x 35mm.

Q: 6. Will these cause vignetting on the Sony 24-70 f/2.8 GM II when stacked? I probably wouldn't use more than 2 stacked at a time (the CPL + a single ND).

A: You can only attach one filter at the time on Sony 24-70 f/2.8 GM II lens. stacking 2 filters will vignette if you are shooting on a 24mm wide angle lens range with a full frame camera. I will recommend getting a step up ring 82-95mm to connect Kase 95mm Wolverine Magnetic Professional Neutral Density Filter Kit II instead of the 82mm kit if you are planning on multi stacking the filters.

Q: 7. Has anyone used this with a Sony 24-105? If so do you get vignetting when stacking the ND and CPL filters? I read on Kase website https://kasefilters.com/faq that it will have vignetting on this lens regardless of filter size. Is that true?

A: Yes when using Kase 95mm Wolverine Magnetic Professional Neutral Density Filter Kit II you need to add an adapter ring to then add the magnetic filters and it becomes very thick if you are stacking multiple filters on top of another and then on top of the adapter ring, that cases vignetting when it is in wide angle position of 24mm.

Q: 8. Can you use a step-down adapter to use larger filters on lenses with smaller thread sizes (e.g.82mm filter on 67mm thread lens)?

A: To use the Kase 72mm Wolverine Magnetic Professional Neutral Density Filter Kit II on a 67mm size lens you can use this adapter: https://bit.ly/3U27oO8

Q: 9. Do these have any play in the fit? The set I have has a lot of play side to side on the filter and even more on the cap

A: Yes. The play is to help prevent scratches from being caused.

Q: 10. How much vignetting can one expect while using both ND and CPL on Canon RF 50mm f1.2?

A: The Kase 77mm Wolverine Magnetic Professional Neutral Density Filter Kit II will not vignette a 50mm lens when stacking 2 filters.

Great product for protecting your lens without distortion from the glass. I have used other brands and trust the Nikon quality for clarity. I have a scratch on another brand I have used and not sure if the lower quality glass resulted in the minor scratch or not.
