This 62mm Magnetic Quick-Swap Neutral Density 1.5 Filter from Freewell is an ND filter with a 64x filter factor that provides a 5-stop exposure reduction. The filter's 1.5 density darkens the entire image area without affecting the image's coloration, allowing the photograph to be made with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than is usually required. Widening the aperture allows for finer control over depth-of-field to help isolate the image subject or increase bokeh. Slowing the exposure time increases blur and conveys movement more easily.

Each surface of the filter is multicoated to help eliminate internal ghosting and reflections. In addition, it features a resistance coating to repel oil, dust, and scratches, offering greater protection to the filter when working on location in harsh environments. The coatings are also hydrophobic, resulting in an improved beading effect when in contact with water or oil for easier cleaning and maintenance. The aluminum filter ring also includes 62mm front threads, permitting the use of screw-on filters with 62mm rear threads.

This filter is designed specifically for photography applications. This filter is not suitable for direct solar viewing with the naked eye, including with optical viewfinders.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will these cause vignetting on the Sony 24-70 f/2.8 GM II when stacked? I probably wouldn't use more than 2 stacked at a time (the CPL + a single ND).

A: You can only attach one filter at the time on Sony 24-70 f/2.8 GM II lens. stacking 2 filters will vignette if you are shooting on a 24mm wide angle lens range with a full frame camera. I will recommend getting a step up ring 82-95mm to connect Kase 95mm Wolverine Magnetic Professional Neutral Density Filter Kit II instead of the 82mm kit if you are planning on multi stacking the filters.

Q: 2. If using on a Nikon 16-35, will stacking 2 filters cause vignette ??

A: Yes, there is a chance of vignetting when stack 2 filters together on the Nikon 16-35mm f/4.

Q: 3. Can a lens hood be used with the Sony 24-70 GM II?

A: Yes. The following filter system allows a end-user to still us e there lens hoods.

Q: 4. Hi everyone, My most used lenses are 82mm, however, I do have 200-600 that I have used filters on in the past. That is 95mm. I am not sure if its better to get the 95mm set with an 82mm step up ring - or just get the 82mm set. Not sure how often I will use filters on the 95mm lens..(though its nice to have) - I currently use Nisi square filter - and they do fit the 95mm lens - but Id rather not have to pack two filter systems. which one would you buy? thanks

A: We would recommend getting the Kase 95mm Wolverine Magnetic Professional Neutral Density Filter Kit II then the Kase Magnetic Step-Up Ring for Wolverine Magnetic Filters (82 to 95mm), BH # KAKWMSP8295. https://bhpho.to/3LOH7g7

Q: 5. I have the Fuji GFX 100 S. Do these Wolverine case magnetic filters resolve 100 megapixels?

A: Yes, the Kase 82mm Wolverine Magnetic Professional Neutral Density Filter Kit II may be used with the 100 megapixel sensor in the FUJIFILM GFX 100S Medium Format Mirrorless Camera.

Q: 6. What app does Kase reccomend for working with their ND filter?

A: We suggest using the following app called Long Exposure Calculator for IOS devices.

Q: 7. What are the dimensions of the leather case, not the package it comes in?

A: The dimensions of the pouch are roughly 4.7 x 4.3 x 1.4" / 120 x 110 x 35mm.

Q: 8. Using a Zeiss Milvus 15mm: the lens has a 95mm filter size and 110* angle of view. Will the 95mm filter kit vignette or should I consider the next size up with a step-up ring?

A: There is always some vignetting when using ultra wide lenses with front ND filters. Whether or not the amount is acceptable to you will depend on your personal preference. However, given the distance between the front element of that specific lens and the edge of the front of the lens where the filter threads are, I would not expect such vignetting to be a result of the rim of the filter. Rather, it would be due to the angle of the entry of light and the fact that it has to go through the filter somewhat sideways. Again, this is normal with ultra wide angle lenses.

Q: 9. Hi, does Kase also make a 2 stop round magnetic ND filter? Thanks.

A: Kase doesn't make a circular 2 stop magnetic ND filter.

Q: 10. How much vignetting can one expect while using both ND and CPL on Canon RF 50mm f1.2?

A: The Kase 77mm Wolverine Magnetic Professional Neutral Density Filter Kit II will not vignette a 50mm lens when stacking 2 filters.

Nikon clear filters are clear and well made. Maybe pricier than some, but I trust the product.

Chose this particular filter from Nikon as a protective filter for a large telephoto lens. Appears to be a high quality item with no observed degradation in image quality or color cast. Had also looked at less expensive filters but decided that past experience with Nikon optical quality made this the best choice.

I use this lens hood on my Sigma 18-250 mm lens. It's a lot easier to use than the one that came with my Sigma lens.

Bought this for my Nikon 50-250 and it works perfectly. The lens cap firs securely in the attachment ring when the hood is snapped off. Nice item, recommended.
