Wow! Thanks Lennie!! What a a totally blast from the past. As a fellow shooter, it's so nice to see stuff on Hendrix on one else captured! Pushing my favorite monochrome, Kodak, Tech Pan was always interesting and you got some really gold. Just look at his expressions in these shots. This wasn't a guitar player, he wasn't chasing Pentatonic, Miloxidian or anything else. In the total moment at that snap of the shutter. Great stuff. As a guitar player, watching someone navigate the keyboard like it was a familiar road he went down day after day. Smiling through some, grimacing through other passages that stirred some other triggers, and he took his Strat and did things Leo would have never guess. I was in R&B band when Hendrix hit the scene. I enjoyed R&B but for the soloist guitar payer, it wasn't what I wanted and when my drummer took me to his house and put on Axis and stuff, my jaw dropped, (think that's were I got my bad TMJ joint problem, but well worth it). Again, thanks Lennie, for a young kid working your way into different areas was really cool. Photographers; we're hated for being in the way, for working so hard to get the shot because whether we are documentary, or still of motion picture, without you and I and the many others who risk getting physically messed up, the world would have missed all of this. Thanks again. BUY THIS BOOK!

Fantastic, solid advice, each chapter focuses on a specific aspect (exposure, etc), real examples. Please note that the author's technique is based on film not digital.

The photographs of Jimi Hendrix in this book make one feel like they are live in person at the concert. You can hear his music through the photos. It seems like one actually visualizes more of Jimi Hendrix, the details, and what his stage performances were like without movement in video but using the still photos. Quite amazing. Glad these photos are published!

I love the book.Great work by Leonard, photos are great and with the commentary put you in the middle of the happenings at the time the photos were taken. It is absolutely wonderful addition to anyone's library especially a music lover, guitar player, someone that grove up listening to Hendrix.

What a throwback! Jimi Hendrix has always been one of my favorites - tragic that he died so young. Lenny's work captures the energy and spirt of Jimi's performances. Beautiful B&W photos, from the intimate and well-lit to the distant ones that are replete with Tri-X grain. Ahhh, I remember Tri-X from my film days. This book is a work of art. The narration provides a great compliment to the photos. What a time that was and how exciting to have the opportunity to take these photos!
