Q: 8. is there a mounting fixture so i could hang the monitor below a shelf?

A: All four side of the monitor have 1/4 screw holes for mounting. I would then think of using a articulating arm such as this Marshall Electronics Articulating Locking Arm (11 ). How you attach it to the shelf depends. I would first go with this 16x9 Inc. Cine Lock Quick Release Mounting Device. Not only will lock the monitor in place, you can easily break down for transport if necessary. If the Cine Lock is not right for you, you might like a clamp like this Manfrotto Nano Clamp with 3/8 -20 to 1/4 -20 Screw Adapter. Have fun. :-)

Q: 9. Does this monitor have a rasterizer to view Audio meter and video waveform?

A: This monitor does have an Audio level display from either the HDMI or SDI inputs. It also has Picture-in-Picture, Image flip, False color, Peaking, Zebras and Screen Markers. However it does not have a waveform. For a similar Marshall monitor that does have a waveform you could check out the V-LCD70MD-3G. Or you can look in to the Elvid 7 FieldVision Pro Monitor with Scopes.

I was originally using rechargeable AA batteries to power my LCD50 but because they only last about an hour I would need to have multiple sets to get me through the day. It worked but it was kind of a pain to charge 5-6 sets of batteries. So I finally took the plunge and bought the adapter for Canon BP batteries and the difference was staggering. As soon as the package arrived I tossed a Canon brand BP-955 (from my C100) on it and timed how long it would last. I was hoping for around 4 hours of use. Well, 4 hours came and went and then 5, then 6 and finally after 7 1/2 hours connected to my DVD player (to simulate being used on a camera) it finally died. I calculated that If I put a BP-970 on it that I would get somewhere around 11 hours of constant use. Needless to say it's one of the best investments I've ever made. The only issue I found was that when I put the battery on for the very first time, it was a little difficult to take off due to it being a very tight fit. But I would much rather it be too tight than too loose and have it rattling around. I feel that with a little use it will be easier to remove the battery. It also has a small safety latch that prevents the battery from falling off if you under-sling the monitor. (Marshall really thought of everything) Bottom line: It's worth every penny.

This thing is awesome! Does everything I need it to do. One thing to be aware of - it DOES come with a power supply, even though it's not listed in the What's In The Box list.

Easy to attach and remove. Does the job for a low price. Allows you to attach small and larger Panasonic batteries. Firm hold, just make sure you push the battery in all the way.

I have been using my marshall monitor for a while now. I have not been able to get rechargable batteries to work very well with it so I was either connecting it to an external source or using regular batteries. I found this adaptor and it fits perfectly. I have a few LPE6 batteries which provides plenty of power for my needs.

This is a most have for any production, since the Marshall 5 is so energy hungry. With AA batteries lasted for about an hour, Now I have the option to use my large 970 Sony batteries and I don't need to pack several types of batteries. And a plus is that the power switch doesn't turn on when in the bag as it often occurred without the adapter.

Great accessory that I use for my field monitor... lasts for ages and is very sturdy. Design is a little bit chunky but it does not take away from how good it is overall.

Seriously the BEST purchase I have made in a long time. The VLCD50 is awesome but it consumes so many double a batteries it was chewing up all my profit on jobs due to a run time of about an hour on one set of batts. This adapter ran for 7.5 hours continous shooting!!! ROCK STAR PRODUCT IMO Matt

4 AA's would cost a lot of money if your always using the monitor. This adapter is great, using the Canon 5D Mark II battery (rechargeable). Not only will it save you money on batteries but being GREEN is the way to go!
