The variable ND2-32 filter helps you achieve your desired exposure in changing light. It is excellent for videography and landscape photography. It allows you to rotate the filter to change light intake without affecting the overall color balance.

High-quality optical glass with a 20-layer nanocoating ensures a neutral color balance, reduces lens reflection, and removes ghost images while ensuring sharpness.

The variable ND-32 allows the use of slow shutter speeds and enables long exposure and motion blur techniques with fluctuating weak lighting. It is able to use longer shutter speeds and large apertures without overexposing your images.

The filter utilizes wide-angle lenses and variable ND filters to rid the black "X" cross on images.

Made of professional optical glass instead of optical resin, it reduces the surface reflection of the filter and the occurrence of glare.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What's the front filter thread size of this filter?

A: The front filter thread is 67mm

Q: 2. Is there a "minimum" spot on this filter that is light enough to focus through? Or are you trying to focus through the 6-stop ND?

A: The best way to focus with a strong ND filter like the PolarPro 82mm Peter McKinnon Signature Edition II Variable ND 1.8 to 2.7 Filter (6 to 9-Stop)is to use the live view feature if you are using a DSLR. The monitor will compensate for the filter and show a well exposed image on the LCD. Mirrorless cameras are always in live view mode so the image is visible due to the compensation. Alternatively you can remove the filter, compose and focus the shot, then attach the filter for the exposure.

Q: 3. this reduce IR?

A: Unfortunately, this filter does not block IR.

Q: 4. I think I have seen some VND's have a total size larger than its threading part, which ends up blocking the ability to mount a lens hood. Does the size of this filter prevent the mounting of a lens hood?

A: You will be able to mount the lens hood with the K&F Concept Variable Fader ND2-ND400 Filter on the lens.

Q: 5. What is the front diameter size of 82mm thread? Does it fit inside Tiltaing Mini Matte Box?

A: The K&F Concept Variable Fader ND2-ND400 Filter (82mm) has an 86mm front diamter. However, please be aware that there are no front threads on filter, therefore you can not connect mattboxes with adapter rings. As for Tilta Tiltaing Mini Matte Box, they only offer adapter rings up to 85mm.

Q: 6. If you use this Variable ND Filter on a Sony 200-600mm Lens, can you still put the lens hood on?

A: yes the Lens hood has a cutout that allows you to rotate the variable nd filter

Q: 7. What is the difference between the Peter McKinnon Signature Edition PolarPro 77-6/9 filter for 249.99 vs. the one for 299.99?

A: The Polar Pro Peter McKinnon Signature Edition II ($249.99) is the newer variant of the filter. It has a haptic feedback mechanism that clicks to indicate when you've reached the next or previous stop. The ring is also a bit more gold than it's predecessor and comes in a smaller environmental friendly package. The older version ($299) comes in a bigger fancier box, does not have the haptic feedback and is optically the same as the newer variant. If I were you, I would go with the Signature Edition II, it's cheaper and it's the most updated version of the filter.

Q: 8. Is the outer-edge threaded?. If so, what size?

A: There does not appear to be any sort of screw for mounting another lens on the front of this one.

Q: 9. Are the filters glass? or acrylic/plastic?

A: The filters on the K&F Concept Variable Fader ND2-ND400 Filter are made of glass.

Q: 10. Can this be used in as a drop in rear element for a 400mm Nikon lens?

A: Unfortunately no. The K&F Concept 52mm Nano-X HD Variable ND2-32 Fader Waterproof & Scratch-Resistant Filter has a 52mm mounting thread for mounting on the front of a lens but the front of the filter has 55mm threads for using a 55mm cap or other filters. Therefore it is too large to fit into a 52mm drop in holder.
