This 1.25" Eyepiece Filter Baader CMOS-Optimized UV/IR Bandpass L Filter from Alpine Astronomical reflects harmful thermal radiation in the infrared spectral range and provides 98% transmission over the entire visible spectrum from 420-685nm. It also prevents blurred star imaging with red-sensitive digital and CCD/CMOS cameras. It features a Reflex-Blocker hard coating, which has been planeoptically polished, and has Life-Coat sealed coating edges. It is equally suitable for modern CMOS sensors as well as for older CCD camera technologies.

  • Reflex-Blocker coatings offer largest ever freedom from halos, even under most adverse conditions concerning aux-optics
  • Provides increased contrast
  • Identical filter thickness to existing standards (2mm), with utmost care for parfocality
  • FWHM on each filter category carefully designed to allow for 1:1:1 exposures, matched for typical CMOS quantum efficiency and S/N ratio
  • Blackened edges all around, with filter-lead side-indicator in the form of a black frontside outer rim, to additionally eliminate any reflection due to light falling onto the edge of a filter
  • Each filter coated individually, with sealed coating edge (not cut from a larger plate with coatings left exposed)

Q: 1. Is this eyepiece threaded at 42mm on the top to attach cameras like the XW eyepieces are?

A: The Pentax SMC 8-24mm Zoom Eyepiece (1.25") BH #PEEP2060X • MFR #70509 does no have any threads for additional add on.

Q: 2. What is the eye relief?

A: The MFR only provides this info, please contact them directly for the Eye relief. Reduce the need for a finder scope with this lower power eyepiece. Fits 31.7mm visual back. Contains cross hairs. Focal length: 100mm Apparent FOV: About 11 Degrees Size: 2" x 7.3" Weight: 6.35 oz Actual field of view varies with optical instrument. Q: 3. Is the eye cup removable and is there thread under the eyecup?

A: No, the eye cup is not removable and there is no threads. Sincerely, Garrett at Celestron

Q: 4. Can it fit on a celestron astromaster 114eq?

A: Yes this eyepiece can fit onto that scope since it takes a 1.25 Eyepiece opening.

Q: 5. Does this eyepiece have a T-thread to allow it to be directly mounted to a T-ring ? Can the front part be screwed off ?

A: My particular unit is very tightly screwed on and I do not want to force the eyepiece apart. There appears enough room for the M42 x .75 mm thread. That being said, I would contact Celestron directly for the attachment method and tread size

Q: 6. will this work with a Nexstar 130 SLT?

A: Yes, it will

Q: 7. Some reviewers say, if you get this eyepiece with PF-65EDA, it doesn't fit into the provided case for the scope. Is that right?

A: The case included with the Pentax PF-65EDAII 65mm Spotting Scope was designed to be used with the open back or fully closed depending on the size of the eyepiece attach to the scope. You would not be able to fully closed the bag when attaching Pentax SMC 8-24mm Zoom Eyepiece. The lenght of the case on the outer curve is 16.5''. The case has 2 zippers, 1 will give you access to the tripod mount. The second one will allow access to mount your eyepiece.

Q: 8. I have a Pentax 65 ED II spotting scope and Pentax SMC XW 10mm eyepiece. If I wanted a greater field of view, should I get a bigger eyepiece 20mm or smaller one 5mm?

A: Magnification in telescopes and spotting scopes is calculated by division. So a 20mm eyepiece will have a greater angle of view than a 10mm or 5mm.

Q: 9. Can it be used with Celestron NexStar 8SE 203mm f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain GoTo Telescope?

A: Yes, the Celestron X-Cel LX 7mm Eyepiece (1.25"), can be be used with the Celestron NexStar 8SE 203mm f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain GoTo Telescope.

Q: 10. Can this be used with Celestron 102 AZ telescope ?

A: Yes, the Celestron X-Cel LX 7mm Eyepiece (1.25"), can be used with the Celestron 102 AZ telescope.
