Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I used this on a lens that has a ND filter attached?

A: Depends on the type of ND filter you are using. Most variable ND filters do not come with front threads or are larger than the rear diameter, meaning you won't be able to use screw-on threaded hoods. If you're using a single-density ND filter, it should not be an issue.

Q: 2. Will this fit Nikon z 16-50 lens

A: Yes, the Sensei 46mm Center Pinch Snap-On Lens Cap and Cap Keeper Lens Cap Holder Kit (2-Pack) will fit the Nikon NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR Lens.

Q: 3. hello, mounts in the canon 24-70 f2.8L RF?

A: Yes, this is compatible with the RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM lenses.

Q: 4. Does it screw onto the Tamron 24-70 mm F2.8 G2 lens?

A: As the Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 Lens has 82mm filter threads, yes, the Sensei LHR2-T82 3-In-1 Rubber Lens Hood (82mm), B&H # SELHR2T82, would be compatible for use with the Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 Lens.

Q: 5. Would this fit on lens Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8?

A: Technically the Sensei 82mm Screw-on Tulip Lens Hood will fit the Tamron 24-70 lens. However, the original hood that came with the lens is designed to match the optics and would be the better option. Here is the original hood for the 24-70: https://bhpho.to/3OngUIi. If you have the G2 version it would be this hood: https://bhpho.to/2GiHFJJ

Q: 6. If I am using a magnetic filter system, which already has a screw-in lens adapter, while this lens hood still work?

A: The Sensei LHR2-T82 3-In-1 Rubber Lens Hood requires a filter thread to attach to the lens. If the magnetic filter system adapter doesn't have a front filter thread, then this wouldn't be able to screw into it. If your magnetic filter doesn't have a front thread, then you wouldn't be able to screw into that either. If your magnetic filter system does have a front thread, I wouldn't recommend using it because the weight of the lens hood would constantly cause the filter to disconnect.

Q: 7. will this lens hood be visible in the photos using the Tamron 24-70mm? Im not sure if at wide angle will show the hood.

A: I'm using the 77mm version of this hood on a Nikon D300s with the Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8G zoom lens, and there's no absolutely trace of vignetting at all. Note that the D300s is a half-frame DX camera and thus has a narrower effective field of view. If you're using a full-frame camera, you can tape some heavy paper around your lens that extends 22mm past the lens's filter-mounting ring to be sure that there will be no vignetting on your particular camera/lens combination.

Q: 8. Will there be vignetting if this 82mm Hood used in the Tamron 18-300mm set at 18mm? I will use a 67-82mm step-up ring.

A: The Sensei 82mm Quick Clip Lens Hood will not vignette on the Tarmron 18-300 APS-C lens at 18mm.

Q: 9. Will a lens cap attach when the hood is reversed?

A: Yes the design of the Sensei 82mm Quick Clip Lens Hood allows most 82mm clip on lens caps to fit on it.

Q: 10. I have a RF 24-70mm, will the lens cap still fit with this on, or is it one or the other?

A: The Sensei 82mm Screw-on Tulip Lens Hood does not accept lens caps. You will need to remove the hood to use a lens cap. An option that accepts center pinch lens caps is the Sensei 82mm Quick Clip Lens Hood BH #SELNQC82.

Step up rings are useful in enabling the use of one large size of a circular filter range to be used across multiple lenses with differing filter sizes. Sensei rings are brass, making them less likely to jam than aluminum rings and worth the extra cost.

You can get cheaper ones, but the really nice brass construction of the Sensei Pro Step-Up ring works well with the B+W filters. It is worth the extra couple of bucks.

This is a heavy duty ring. I leave it on my lens all the time to protect the edge of the lens from damage.
