The D20S Dante AV transceiver supports sub-microsecond video and audio synchronization by designating a single network clock that always keeps the video in sync with audio regardless of the number of endpoints in the ecosystem, fixing lip-sync problems.
As a decoder with unicast and multicast capabilities, the D20S receives the signal from a Dante AV PTZ camera or an encoder and feeds it to a display device via the output port. Using the controller software, the decoder can quickly and easily switch between multiple endpoints with no need for breakouts or matrix switches to display the video on any number of screens.
The transceiver can be configured as an individual encoder or decoder via a firmware update.
The D20S can output 4K60 images via its HDMI & SDI ports. An integrated high-performance scaling engine provides downscaling to the encoded source for a wide array of 4K, UHD 4K, and HD resolutions to match the different capabilities and requirements of other equipment.
It supports standard Dante compatible networked audio streams from encoders and audio interfaces. The received Dante audio streaming can be combined with the video and then output via the HDMI & SDI ports.
A built-in RS-422 serial port can be used with a PTZ joystick controller. Full setup, control, and monitoring of the device is enabled with the Dante Controller software with features like automatic device discovery and system configuration. Two USB Type-A ports and a USB Mini-B port provide control over IP using a keyboard and/or mouse with a remote computer.
Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. How do I control focus, exposure? Do I have to have the remote, or is there software to control it?
A: The Bolin Technology B2-220 HDMI/3G-SDI/USB/IP PTZ Camera with 20x Optical Zoom operates focus and exposure, as well as other controls with a camera controller like the Bolin Technology PTZ Camera IP/Serial Remote Controller.
Q: 2. Are there neurtal density filters that can be added to this camera?
A: No, there is no system designed to use neutral density filters on the Bolin Technology EXU420N 4K60 Outdoor NDI 6-Ready PTZ Camera.
Q: 3. Are there filter threads on this camera?
A: The Bolin Technology N2-210X NDI|HX3 PTZ Camera does not have lens filter threads.
Q: 4. Will this box make it possible for BlackMagic Design ATEM inputs to be consistent and usable?
A: This does scaling from HDMI/AV to SDI. You may be facing an issue that requires Frame Rate Conversion as well and for that we recommend the Decimator MD-HX Miniature HDMI/SDI Cross Converter with Scaling & Frame Rate Conversion, B&H # DEDDHX.https://bhpho.to/2fDbJBb
Q: 5. Do the TX and RX units make any noise (e.g., fan noise)?
A: Users have reported there is some noise when using these products. However that noise is not a detriment to using it.
Q: 6. can you use multiple sets in close proximity?
A: As long as you keep them about 3 and a half feet apart, you should be able to use multiple sets without interference.
Q: 7. Please does this introduce compression to the video can I use it for live applications especially with my Blackmagic mixer?
A: Yes it does. This is a compressed system. For an inexpensive uncompressed system you could look at the CINEGEARS Ghost-Eye 150M V2 Wireless HDMI/3G-SDI Transmission Kit (984') instead, BH #CI6151. https://bhpho.to/2qNiHyu
Q: 8. This rescale the inputs? (Like input 4k and scale it to hd?)
A: no this will not scale the input signal
Q: 9. Do the Bolin PTZ cameras use UVC-PTZ?
A: This model camera, the Bolin Technology B2-220 HDMI/3G-SDI/USB/IP PTZ Camera with 20x Optical Zoom does offer UVC/UAC. This may not be the case across their entire lineup however.
Q: 10. Is it possible to have multiple receivers in using the RX in addition to 3 smart devices for example ?
A: No, with the Crystal Video Technology Swift800 Pro SDI & HDMI Wireless Video Transmission System (B&H# CRSWIFT800PR) one must choose either RTSP mode (for transmission to up to four iOS/Android devices) or Point-to-Point mode (for transmission to the receiver). One cannot use both modes simultaneously.
