Compact, powerful, and customizable, the Alta X from FREEFLY is a modular quadcopter platform that can meet nearly any drone requirements you have. From RTK mapping to carrying heavy payloads, the Alta X can be combined with a variety of optional modules, payloads, and accessories. The Alta X frame comes equipped with four props and X9 motors, with each of the four propellers featuring FREEFLY's ActiveBlade design. ActiveBlade tilts the blade in forward flight to help drastically reduce vibration.

The powerful X9 motors and propellers also help give the Alta X its strength. The Alta X can lift and fly payloads up to 35 lb while still maintaining a trust ratio of 1.9:1. With 35 lb of added gear, the Alta X can fly for up to 10.75 minutes. Without any payloads, the Alta X has a 3.5:1 thrust ratio and up to 50 minutes of flight time. Please note that a battery, landing gear, and camera for the Alta X are not included.

No matter how you use the Alta X, the drone is engineered for easy transport and quick deployment. The propellers and arms fold to cut its physical size by half, and with just a push of your finger, you can expand the drone to full size. When expanded, the linkages stiffen the booms to help ensure accurate, low-vibration flight.

This rugged, hard-shell case is the AL2727-1404 Single-Lid Case made by Pelican. It's constructed from lightweight, high-impact polyethylene with molded-in ribs and corrugations for secure nonslip stacking. Pelican also provided increased durability in the edges and corners by adding 20% more material in those locations. A custom-cut foam interior is precisely shaped to hold the default Alta X frame in its folded configuration, an optional Futaba T16IZ remote, and optional Skyview landing gear. Other features include:

• Molded-in, tongue-in-groove gasketed parting lines for splash resistance and tight seals after impact

The Futaba T16IZ controller works with the included receiver to give you full wireless control over the Alta X drone in Mode 2 configuration. If you set up an optional transmitter in the Alta X, you can utilize the Futaba's built-in display to receive and monitor flight telemetry.

The FRX Pro long-range radio is engineered to transmit flight telemetry to an operator ground station from up to one mile away via a 900 MHz signal. Please note that this long-range radio is required for flight operations that involve QGroundControl (manual, altitude, or GPS mode flights).

The Alta X FPV System is designed to wirelessly transmit essential flight telemetry to a 5.8 GHz receiver/monitor (not included), such as battery voltage, heading, and ground speed. It also provides video reference for the Alta X.

The Auterion is the operating system of the Alta X. It's designed to automate logging and compliance, support RTK use with photo logging, and work with the MAVSDK API for custom software solutions. Custom solutions you design can be sent from the ground via radio, or onboard via an optional expansion computer.

Some of the optional modules and accessories you can mount onto the Alta X require power, and the Alta X is made to provide that with three battery power outputs. Each output provides 10A of current, and you can choose from a 5 or 12 VDC connection.

A: The included Alta X case will not have a section for batteries.

Q: 4. Does also include a traffic wire?

A: The Garmin Drive 52 GPS Navigation System, B&H # GA0100203606, does not include the Traffic receiver/vehicle power cable. They make another variant that does include it, which is Garmin Part Number 010-02036-07, we do not sell it anymore.

Q: 5. Are there any compatibility restrictions regarding microSD card memory capacity?

A: The Garmin DriveSmart 66 GPS Navigation System BH #GADS66 uses microSDHC cards up to 64GB.

Q: 6. Do you have an insert so you do not have to remove props?

A: Unfortunately no. We do not carry a case insert for the Nanuk 925 Case that provides protection to propellers.

Q: 7. What is the difference between the discontinued movie controller and this movie controller ? Is this compatible with m15?

A: The only difference between the two FREEFLY MōVI Controller models is the old one used to come with the gimbal RX receiver, but that has been discontinued. All Mōvi Controllers now come with the FRX Pro in its place. There was no change in the controller itself, only the included accessories.

Q: 8. Are the map updates free or do you have to pay for them?

A: The Garmin DriveSmart 76 GPS Navigation System BH #GADS76 • MFR #010-02470-00 has free Garmin upgrades.

Q: 9. Does the joystick have twist function, and if so can it be used for zoom?

A: The joystick on the FREEFLY MoVI Controller does not provide twist functionality. The Zoom direction can be done through the zoom rocker on the controller.

Q: 10. We have a DJI Ronin and Gremsi gStabi Gimbal... I love what your doing with the MIMIC.Can I make the mimic work with either one of these gimbals?

A: At this time it is unknown if the FREEFLY MoVI Controller can work with third party gimbals. It is my opinion that in this hotly competitive market the answer would be no.
